Yvonne Aguilar
My name is Yvonne Aguilar, but my friends call me Bonnie. I am an American Council on Exercise Certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with 15 years of experience. I have had the distinct privilege of working with a variety of people over the years from all fitness levels, age groups, and many dealing with specific limitations and health problems. I pursued a degree in Kinesiology because I have always been interested in the human body and I have a love for physical activity.
Throughout the years I have developed a keen interest in how important movement is to our overall health and wellness and the prevention of chronic disease. I am overjoyed when a client learns and sees what their bodies can do and they feel the benefits of what regular activity and healthful eating does to improve their quality of life. I consider it a privilege to be a part of the process in helping someone achieve their long term goals. I also can be sincerely empathetic to my client’s struggles as I have dealt with my own with weight loss as well as learning to eat in a more healthful and mindful way. I enjoy working with people who are looking for long term, lifetime changes and who are ready to commit to pursuing these changes. My preferred method of exercise is training utilizing functional principles or functional movement. I feel so strongly that this method of training yields the best results for improving strength, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, endurance, and balance.
On a personal note, I find great comfort in sharing in spiritual activities with my family and exercising with friends or even alone. Exercise is my stress reliever. I enjoy rock and roll, both classic and current, alternative, R&B, salsa and jazz. I believe that balance is the key to living our best lives, and a culmination of physical, mental, and emotional health is worth pursuing and maintaining.
“Happiness is not a matter of intensity, but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.”
