While the risk levels for cardiac arrest may vary, it is not reserved only for only certain populations.  Both active and inactive lifestyles can increase the demand to be prepared to handle a medical emergency.

Be prepared for a health emergency that can strike anyone, anytime! Early care provided for injury or sudden illness before medical treatment becomes available can improve the outcome of many emergencies when provided by a trained individual.  A victim's chance of survival depends on the people around them!

Although we can all agree that it is better to avoid medical emergencies, first aid skills are important for helping victims should the need arise. Literally millions of people die every year of illnesses that could largely have been prevented by living healthier lifestyles, an accident or other injuries (often resulting in a simple lack of awareness or information about the risks of certain activities).  Properly applied first aid can save lives and reduce recovery time.

The class was well structured and insightful.  It was easy to follow and to learn the different concepts around CPR.  I loved the situational awareness concept to reduce and control panic.  The hands-on part was extremely helpful to practice class concepts.  The instructor emphasizes the situational awareness approach while maintaining proper technique.  The instructor had no issue answering all levels of questions and genuinely cared for us learning these critical skills.
